How to Use a Custom Tracking Domain

In order for Talent CRM to track clicks on links in the emails the links have to go through another domain that redirects the user to the final destination. To track email opens and not be marked as spam, you need to set up one or more domains as a CNAME pointing to These links should aid you in your process if you use Google, GoDaddy or Amazon Web Services.

Once you have set it up in your DNS, you can add it to your Talent CRM account by following these steps:

  1. Log into the Talent CRM platform.

  2. On the left hand side of the platform, select the Settings tab

  3. Once inside the Settings page, scroll down to the Track Email Opens section

  4. Enter your domain, and click the Add Domain button to complete

When the custom tracking domain matches the sender domain, it can make the email appear more authentic to mailbox providers and can improve your deliverability and inbox placement.
